"The Time of Mendel's Trouble"
Music & Lyrics by Jeremiah Ginsberg
Book by Jeremiah & Wendy Ginsberg
The third musical in the trilogy is an epic that dramatizes the times
in which we live as well as what’s coming in the future in that
uniquely Jewish way that we do so well.

The story revolves around our hero, Mendel Moskowitz, who gets a
visit from the Burning Bush which scoots into his living room in
Brooklyn, and tells him, “Mendel, I’m making you a prophet.” And
Mendel replies, “It’s about time I made a profit!” Even serious
subjects can be dramatized with a bit of humor. The Lord sends
him to Jerusalem where he becomes a big-mouth prophet!

The show incorporates a Romeo & Juliet-type love story, political
satire, comedy, tragedy, and the ultimate triumph of good over
evil when the Messiah finally returns!

The prophetic Biblical message of this new musical rings loud and
clear: The Jewish Messiah is coming to establish Shalom on earth!
It is a message of God’s great love for His people, and it is also a
warning that there will be a time of tribulation:

“Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: It is even
the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.”
    (Jeremiah 30:7)

The humorous political satire in this new musical is extraordinary,
as is the music. This show shines the light on the United Nations,
the Arabs, the Muslims, the Russians, and the Politicians!

Rather than bringing peace, the self-seving U.N. Leaders bungle
everything and the War of Armageddon ensues.

The U.N. Leaders in this show are: (see photo below)
1) The Leader of the Emerging Russian Socialist Empire,
Vladimir Bullshatowsky
2) The Leader of Great Britain, Lady Beezer Peevy-Pill
3)  The Leader of The Council of World Church Relations,
Giuseppe Gepetto Falsetto
4) The Leader of The Middle East Arab Alliance,
Sheik-Abu Ali-Goniff
5) The Leader of The World-Wide Islamic Conglomerate,
Akbar Duhnutjob
6) The President of America, Scarlett O’Harlett
7) and her husband, Secretary General Don Juan O'Harlett

"THE TIME OF MENDEL’S TROUBLE, A Madcap Musical of Biblical Proportions, is an ambitious and
irreverent endeavor. With a book by Jeremiah & Wendy Ginsberg, there are three acts and 28
scenes. Now that’s ambitious. And there are several entertaining aspects of this musical...

"Mendel Moskowitz (Tom Richter) and Murray Schwartz of Miami Beach (Chris Reber) have been
chosen by God to be prophets of the Apocalypse. As they attempt to get their people to repent and
return to Israel, the Chosen come up against a zany cast of characters that include the Devil himself
(Matt Landers), a wanna-be Hillary Clinton (Adrienne Doucette) and her political cohorts, terrorists,
United Nations players, a rabbi and his family, a love interest, and of course a Burning Bush.

"Rife with political satire, morality, romance, religion, and comedy, MENDEL’S TROUBLE has great
potential. Music and lyrics are clever. Costumes and choreography are creative. And when it’s funny,
it’s very funny!" - Laurie Lawson, The Electronic Link Journey
